A customer looking to upgrade to a larger, more recent yacht, felt inclined toward a Contest 36S but feared it beyond him. That was until stepping on board with our broker who knew the boat’s whole history and suggested there may be ways. The customer was impressed with the boat’s condition, the level of equipment, and the evident care of the vendor. There was hope!
Assessing the customer’s personal requirements and the situation of the vendor, a list of modifications and additions was drawn up with the aid of our MYS refit facility for discussion and costing and further consideration. That this work could all be conducted within the original building environment with the shared knowledge and method played a very important role in the final decision… to go ahead.
So, a great match not just between seller and buyer but of a thoroughly well designed and built Contest classic and a new young owner who throughout the whole process had his heart set on a true quality yacht equipped to today’s high standards. This customer’s new boat will now be one of the pearls sailing the Contest Cup in June this year.
