The exhibition dust is now well settled after two great January weeks at boot Düsseldorf yet here the delight rolls on and on! It was truly super to be back in Hall 16 after the pandemic-enforced years of absence, and absolutely wonderful to use this unique platform for the World Premiere of our two new and clearly very enticing 50-footers, the Contest 50CS and Contest 49CS. With viewings exceeding 1100 and initiating so many ongoing conversations, this marks a fantastic start to 2023 and the year ahead.
And we’re not the only ones saying this, the press are too! In Yachting World’s review in the February edition, test editor Toby Hodges praised “… the combination of Dutch build quality, and a family-run can-do approach with contemporary styling and the reassurance of Lloyd’s approval”. And which of the aft cockpit, twin aft cabin 49CS or centre cockpit, aft master suite 50CS would he choose? “If I had teenage or adult children or friends I cruised with frequently, then this layout [the 49CS] makes sense. I may just have to compare them side by side before making the decision!”
Such a happy conundrum, and one shared and evidently enjoyed by all our Düsseldorf visitors as they swapped between sides of the stand and these two new 15-metre models. The conversations were so varied, would it be master suite forward or aft, the VIP and bunked guest cabins, or mirrored twin cabins for equality, and what of the tender garage or not, and the different deck layouts aft? A fascinating offer.
Also exciting much discussion, keen interest was evident in our newly introduced all-electric propulsion system, engineered with Torqeedo and BMW technology, shown and presented on the stand. With Fisher Panda genset in place of main engine, and incorporating energy regeneration through the ZF saildrive, and in-built hydro and solar generation from Watt&Sea and Solbain, this option provides what is, essentially, limitless range, perfect for local and so significantly true bluewater cruising. Now that is very enticing! And, yes, making for even more ongoing discussions!
