New Marina scores inside and outside the Netherlands
Many a foreign visitor has found his way to Amsterdam Marina, drawn by the sparkling city and the excellent ferry connection from the Marina to the Central station and Schiphol airport. And of course drawn by the comfortable new marina with spacious berths and bathrooms. Two of those bathrooms even have bath tubs with a view on the river IJ. Many visiting yachts stay longer than just one night.
Amsterdam Marina excellent base for trips
Situated at the widest point of the IJ at the junction of waterways: North Sea, Marken, Amsterdam-Rhine Canal, North Holland Canal and the Standing Mast Route, the new Amsterdam Marina is an excellent base for trips to the North Sea, the IJsselmeer and to the city. Located at the NDSM wharf with its own rich nautical history, the new 350-berth marina is home to the annual HISWA In Water Boat Show event for Dutch and international yachting.
Berths with a table number
Every night is a busy night for the truly Amsterdams restaurant Loetje aan t IJ in Amsterdam Marina. The international guests too, have discovered Loetje’s famous steaks. It is not possible to make a reservation for the restaurant but waiting for a table while having a drink at the bar makes time fly. The terraces around the restaurant offer a spectacular view on the river IJ and the city of Amsterdam. You can even wait aboard your yacht, a pager will go off when your table is ready. Or, even better, moor your boat along one of the special pontoons around the restaurant and have dinner or drinks served on board. The pontoons have table numbers in Loetje’s cash register! Berths around Loetje are free if you order drinks or dinner.
